Registration and Profile

HOW DO I GET STARTED AS A SHOPLOYAL BUSINESS?

Log in to the Merchant Portal with the info you used to register your business, and bookmark this site for easy access: merchant.shoployal.com

HOW DO I LIST MORE THAN ONE LOCATION ON MY BUSINESS PROFILE IN THE APP?

Currently our platform allows for one location per merchant.  If you need multiple location listings, please contact us!

DO BUSINESSES USE THE SHOPLOYAL APP TO INTERACT WTIH THEIR INSIDERS?

Yes, registered businesses use both the Merchant Portal – a website that is available both for computers and mobile devices to engage with their Insiders – but also use the consumer app for sending and receiving chats on the go and in real time. Download (for FREE) the ShopLoyal app and sign up with the info you used to register your business.  The app provides a link to the portal but you can always access it online by going to merchant.shoployal.com

Customers and Insiders

WHAT IS AN INSIDER?

Insiders are the customers that have chosen to connect with you on the ShopLoyal app: they’ve added your business as a way to receive your exclusive notices and offers and to receive personalized attention through the app’s messaging function. Insiders are your regular and repeat, most loyal customers and are deserving of the very best treatment.

You may also add Insiders to become email subscribers to your notifications by uploading previously collected email addresses to the Merchant Portal.

HOW DO I INVITE CUSTOMERS TO BECOME AN INSIDER?

There are many ways you can invite customers to become an Insider for your business. Generally, you can invite customers by sending them your unique Invite Link which is found at the top of your dashboard on the Merchant Portal.  Click to copy the link and paste whenever making an invitation.

Here are some of the ways we recommend inviting your customers, with step-by-step instructions being found in this section of the Merchant Portal:

  • E-mail – send a special invitation to your email newsletter list
  • Marketing Materials and Signs – display, hand out and post our provided collateral. Contact us at any time for additional requests
  • Social Media – tell your followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or other social media platforms that you’re a ShopLoyal merchant and invite them to download the app and add you
  • Text Messaging – send customers the invite link via a text

HOW DO I KNOW WHO MY INSIDERS ARE?

You will see a current list of your Insiders from the “Insiders” section of the merchant portal. When you receive a new Insider, they will be shown here upon page refresh, and you will be notified by email.

You can also view your email subscribers by tapping on the “List” page here.

MY CUSTOMER JOINED MY BUSINESS BUT I WASN’T NOTIFIED BY EMAIL

When you have a new Insider, the email notification may take a couple of minutes to reach your inbox. Notices will be emailed to the address you used when you first registered. If you still have not received the email within a few minutes, check to see if the email landed in the junk folder.

You can also add our email address to your list of safe senders to be sure you receive all Merchant updates: [email protected]

DO CUSTOMERS NEED TO BE INVITED TO BECOME MY INSIDER?

No, customers may discover and become an Insider on their own. But don’t rely on being found as your sole method of building your Insider list; refer to the tips we provide in the ADD INSIDERS section of the Merchant Guide.



HOW DO MY CUSTOMERS BECOME ONE OF MY INSIDERS WITHOUT AN INVITATION FROM ME?

Easily! Customers become Insiders via the ShopLoyal app. They simply visit your in app business profile and tap the “join business” button.

Customers can discover your merchant profile from within ShopLoyal, or they can be invited by visiting your Invite Link.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “INSIDERS” AND “VIPS”?

Insiders are any customers who either a) are added by you in the Merchant Portal or b) who join your business from the consumer app.  App users will receive your real time mobile alerts and notifications and can chat directly with you in the app.

VIPs are Insiders that may benefit from additional offers and notifications, determined by you! As a business, you can elevate any of your Insiders to VIP status at your discretion. To elevate an Insider to a VIP, toggle their status next to their name on the Merchant Portal Insiders page.

You can send a notice to just your VIP Insiders by selecting the “VIP only” option in the Audience drop down. Notices sent to VIPs should have an added level of exclusivity. IS THE SHOPLOYAL APP FREE FOR CONSUMERS?

Yes! All consumers can download and use ShopLoyal for free!

CAN ANYONE ELSE SEE WHO MY CUSTOMERS ARE, SUCH AS OTHER BUSINESS OWNERS?

No way! You have complete privacy and control when it comes to your Insider list and information. Please refer to our privacy policy for more details.

HOW DOES SHOPLOYAL USE AND MANAGE MY CUSTOMERS' CONTACT INFORMATION?

We recognize how important your customer relationships are to your business and their privacy is equally important to us.  We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer their information to third parties. We strive to protect any customer information that you upload consistent with our Privacy Policy. All electronic communication between your web browser or mobile device and our servers is protected and encrypted via SSL (HTTPS). 

We want you to experience maximum success when engaging with your Insiders.  One way we help accomplish this is by educating those customers who download the ShopLoyal app.  We occasionally send them emails on how to use and benefit from the app’s features which ultimately should help them engage with the businesses they’ve joined.  App users may unsubscribe from these emails at any time. 

Chat Feature

WHAT IF I CAN’T RESPOND TO CHATS RIGHT AWAY?

Your chat status defaults to “on”.  You can disable and set this feature according to your availability temporarily or permanently by toggling the “Allow” button found at the top of the Settings page

Notices and Offers

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SEND NOTICES?

We suggest sending between one (1) and three (3) notifications per week to stay top of mind with your customers without overwhelming them.  Refer to this section of the Merchant Guide for more tips on creating and sending notices.

HOW DO INSIDERS RECEIVE AND REDEEM MY OFFERS?

There are 2 ways your notices can be delivered:

Mobile Alerts: If your customer has downloaded the ShopLoyal app and joined your business as an Insider they will receive all your notices in real time to their home screen on their mobile device.

Newsletters: If you’ve manually entered a customer’s email address on the Merchant Portal Dashboard to invite them to become your Insider, they will automatically receive all of your notices as an email in their inbox. 

To redeem any of your offers, you can decide what works best for you. Typically, customers just show they received your notice from your profile page in the app.



WHY MIGHT A CUSTOMER NOT RECEIVE MY NOTIFICATIONS?

The troubleshooting solutions are as follows:

  • Did the customer install the ShopLoyal app?
    An Insider may not receive your notices via mobile alerts if they do not have ShopLoyal installed.
  • Did the customer become an Insider?
    A customer must become an Insider by joining your business through the ShopLoyal app.
  • Has the customer enabled notifications on their device?
    Ask your Insider to check their settings to be sure they’ve enabled notifications.
  • Did the customer check their junk folder if they aren’t receiving your Newsletter? If you’ve added their email through the Merchant Portal, they should receive your notices via email.  They should add [email protected] to their list of safe senders.

Payment

WHEN WILL I BEGIN BEING CHARGED FOR MY SUBSCRIPTION AS A REGISTERED BUSINESS?

We understand it may take some time for you to get up and running on ShopLoyal.  We allow a 60-day free period while you work to build your Insider list and begin seeing results.  Your monthly subscription fee will be charged 60 days after your date of registration and will show on your credit card statements as “ShopLoyal Subscription”.



HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE AS A SHOPLOYAL MERCHANT?

We hate to see you go! If you have any concerns, please contact us any time – we wish to provide you the absolute best experience on ShopLoyal.

If you still wish to cancel your subscription, press the “cancel” button on the Merchant Portal “Settings” page and you will be removed as a registered ShopLoyal business.
